 को-लोकेशन फ्रॉड से जुड़े एक मामले के सिलसिले में गिरफ्तारियां की गईं, जिसके लिए देश के प्रमुख शेयर बाजार में अनियमितताओं के और निष्कर्षों के बाद मई 2018 में एक प्राथमिकी दर्ज की गई थी। सीबीआई मार्केट एक्सचेंज कंप्यूटर सर्वर से स्टॉक ब्रोकरों को सूचना के कथित अनधिकृत वितरण की जांच कर रही है। ब्रोकर एनएसई की को-लोकेशन सुविधा का उपयोग अपने सर्वर को स्टॉक एक्सचेंज की सुविधाओं पर रखने के लिए कर सकते हैं, जिससे उन्हें बाजारों तक तेजी से पहुंच मिलती है। कुछ दलालों पर अंदरूनी सूत्रों की मदद से एल्गोरिदम और सह-स्थान सुविधाओं का दुरुपयोग करके अप्रत्याशित लाभ कमाने का आरोप लगाया जाता है।

The arrests were made in connection with a case related to co-location fraud, for which an FIR was lodged in May 2018 following further findings of irregularities in the country's premier stock exchange. The CBI is probing the alleged unauthorized distribution of information from market exchange computer servers to stock brokers. Brokers can use the co-location facility of NSE to place their servers at stock exchange facilities, giving them faster access to the markets. Some brokers are accused of making windfall profits by misusing algorithms and co-location features with the help of insiders.
