According to the Indian Space Research Organisation, the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter's X-ray spectrometer “Class” has for the first time identified the abundance of sodium on the Moon (ISRO). The discovery of the distinctive X-ray line of sodium by Chandrayaan-1's X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (C1XS) allowed for the ability to study the Moon's sodium content.
