  •  Dr CV Anand Bose has been appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal by President Draupadi Murmu.
  •  Bose (71), an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Kerala cadre, is a retired member of the 1977 batch. 
  •  Before retiring in 2011, he last worked as an administrator at the National Museum here. 
  •  His appointment will be effective when he assumes his office.
  • Bose has held a variety of positions both in the Center and in Kerala, the state where he was raised.
  •  According to his official records, he has held positions such as additional secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, secretary to the then-chief minister of the state of Kerala, district collector of Quilon district (now Kollam), among others.
