Sandhya Devanathan is named Meta's new India director



  • Facebook-parent Meta has chosen Sandhya Devanathan to replace outgoing India CEO Ajit Mohan as its next top executive, effective two weeks after Mohan's resignation. 
  • Devanathan will begin serving in his new capacity on January 1, 2023.
  • Currently, Devanathan is Meta's Asia-Pacific (APAC) division's vice president of gaming. 
  • She will answer to Dan Neary, vice-president of Meta's worldwide APAC business, in her new position. 
  • Devanathan formerly held the positions of business director for Vietnam and country managing director for Singapore.
  • Devanathan's appointment follows high-profile exits from the company's Indian ventures.
  • On 3 November, META announced the resignation of the then country head Ajit Mohan with immediate effect.
  • On November 15, the company announced the departure of Abhijit Bose, Country Head of WhatsApp India, and Rajeev Agarwal, Director of Public Policy, Meta India.
